Prologue before Chapter 1

Image
If you haven't noticed, my ability to update my blog has hit an all time low. I haven't fallen completely off the earth, but out of the many ways I try to share whats happening in my life, this way has been neglected. But in reality, your life has kept moving, and so has mine. As the new year approaches I have thoughts such as, "Maybe 2017 will be the year my blogging is on point." and "Maybe my New years resolution will include working on my communication skills.". I look at 2017 as almost a new volume to my life series, a new book waiting to be written. But first comes the Prologue. Designed as an opening to a story, the Prologue establishes the context and gives background details, often some earlier story that ties into the main one, and other miscellaneous information. If you are on my list for email updates or follow me on Facebook, this will be more of a review. I Co-lead a YWAM School of Worship Outreach to the USA this past June/

From the Class Room to the Nations!!

It has been an incredible few months here on the Gold Coast! Life as a missionary in ywam is always changing and moving, but God is creating in me more of a consistency of heart and faith. Our students on the school of worship have almost finished their lecture phase of the school and in a few short weeks we all head to the USA for outreach. Last week I was given the opportunity to speak on the school on "Reaching the Nations through Worship". It was amazing to share my revelations and stories with these guys and challenge them in their perspective of worship ministry. throughout the week we covered how we need to value our personal history with God and value community. I also shared about my journey and many of the things God has been teaching me while in ywam and Mozambique about hunger, sacrifice and holiness. We also looked at what God is doing in the world and how there is a new wave of worship and prayer that is fueling the greatest revival the world has ever experi

America The Beautiful

A Warm Hello from YWAM Gold Coast!! I have a very exciting announcement!!! We have been praying as school leaders as to where our July/August overseas outreach should be and God has been faithful again to show us what to do!! We are going to the USA!!! God is moving in amazing ways in the states, but also so many have not had a personal encounter with God's love. So many in the States are spiritually starving and do not know God. He is showing us that we are to be apart of what is happening there and I am beyond excited!! I had to lay down my desire to minister in America when God told me to move back to Australia, but He is faithful!!!!   As a Worship school we are believing for revival in America and for worship and prayer to pave the way for a outpouring unlike any other we have witnessed!!  This past weekend, in Los Angeles, over 100,000 have gathered for Azusa Now 2016. The Churches are coming together and crying out for a outpouring of the Holy Spirit that will b

One Month and Counting!!

It has been just over a month being back at the Goldie. I continue to see God's faithfulness every day!! We were able to Launch 2016s School of Worship 2 weeks ago and have 3 students who have committed this next season to developing as worship leaders and lovers of God. I am blown away at God's way of bringing people together from different walks to grow and be a family. Worship and Prayer in the City In the last week we had our first Lecture topic, "Worship in truth". Our students also lead worship for the first time on the school and have begun song writing. Even in a week we have had so much breakthrough!! Our students learned more about the Glory of God and how Community and our own hearts being healthy play a huge part in our worship culture as the church. We have also spent time in the City, praying and worshiping. God is giving us such a heart for our Gold Coast family and we want revival in our City!! Not just a small movement but a kingdom invasion

Hit the Ground Running!!

G'Day from Australia!! New Home on the Goldie! God is faithful and I arrived safely to the Gold Coast with all my luggage and body parts. What a roller coaster it has been. I arrived just over a week ago and have settled into my new home. I have hit the ground running. My first day back I had enough time to shower before I was already in worship practice for the base and then tagged teaming in a teaching with the Current Discipleship Training School. It is amazing that God uses you even when you are exhausted and haven't slept in 2 days! I have also spent time prepping for the School of Worship, which will begin in 2 weeks!! We are praying into our speakers, students, outreach, and seeking God for His heart for this season. We are filled with faith and believing for God to pour out like never before! We are taking this City for Jesus! Please pray with us for more students and for grace in all the preparation that goes into running a SOW. Pray those who are meant t

Friends || Faithfulness || Flights

Over the last 2 months I have had many ups and downs as I have been in transition. A transition from Africa to America. A transition from 2015 to 2016. A transition from who I was to who I am now, and finally, a transition from Michigan to the Gold Coast. God has been incredible faithful to not only come through with all I needed for flights to Australia, but also in giving me extra time to spend with friends and family. He has used things that I thought were negative and has blessed me. Leading up to this week I thought, "how is this going to happen?". I was short the funds needed, and the longer I waited to leave, the less time I would have to help in prepping for the School of Worship. However I kept believing that God would do what He said. On the weekend, I saw God provide supernaturally through people in a beautiful way. I was able to find really great flights and also be prayed out by my home church. I am humbled and in awe of God's loving kindness and the supp

Hungry and Heading Out Soon!

Now that February has arrived, life is getting real for this kid!! In 2 weeks I hope to be in Australia. As I prepare to once again move half way around the world, I have a lot on my mind. Legalistically, I feel I am taking steps both forwards and back. I am not able to get the visa I was hoping for before I go, so I have a 3 month tourist visa. Please pray that I am able to get my 2 year visa before the 3 months are up. I am however getting closer to covering the cost of flights to the Gold Coast!! I am so thankful to those who have been praying and giving. If you would like to give, click on the "Give A Donation" tab at the top of the page. All this being said, God is so good. I believe that God is going to pour out His spirit in an amazing way through this School of Worship and in Australia. When I was in Mozambique, God had me in a process of learning what Hunger for Him can look like. He planted a seed while I was in New Zealand on an outreach months before. I was sp

Give. . . . Send. . . . Go!!!

As I continue to learn how to make giving easy for those who want to be involved missions, I have found many options. While sharing more about my next 2 years in Australia, GiveSendGo was brought to my attention. It is similar to gofundme, but they have a special focus on Christian missions. I have launched a campaign through their sight and have added the Link in my "Give A Donation" tab  the top of my blog!! Check it out, such an easy way to give and see updates!! I am hoping to be in Australia within the next 3 weeks!I am so excited to be back in ministry and to see God move on the Gold Coast! Click to Visit my GiveSendGo Page!! Please be praying for me!! I still am in the process of getting Visa and Flights. God is good and He will be faithful to bring me where He has called me! Have a great weekend! Lindsey

Paperwork Can't Steal the Promise!!

As I prepare to move back to Australia once again, each week has what feels like new hurdles I have to jump over. "One thing" on my to-do list seems to have 15 bullet points underneath that must happen before that "one thing" can actually be crossed off. Reading government paperwork is like trying to read another language. When you are in a season of waiting, it can be easy to loose perspective.  I was listening to a teaching the other day about a perspective of victory. If God is God, and what He says is truth, we should be able to take on any situation with His promises being what we dwell on. If I begin with the end in mind, knowing God spoke certain things to me, I can focus on those things. When it feels like nothing is happening or the struggle seems overpowering, I live from a place of victory. What I will receive in faith through the process is greater then the intimidation of the enemy in the tension. It is easier to say then to actually apply, but Jesus

Don't Shy from the Light

Something I am reminded of more and more every day is my need for Jesus. We all have our struggles and I have learned that when the world comes with all its hardship and questions, we have 2 options. Run towards Jesus or run away from Jesus. Now I do not want to downplay the struggles you may have faced. However, I know the truth that our circumstances do not define who God is and the devil would love to tell you differently. He would love for you to allow hardship to make you run, isolate yourself, loose hope and believe a lie about God. But God has shown me through walking through my own hardships, that I have a choice. I can choose to run towards God and ask for help and let him into my heart and situation. When I was in Mozambique, I received a lot of breakthrough in my life, but only after weeks of feeling overwhelmed and broken. I was waiting for God to answer my questions and facing many fears and lies. I had many situations where I wanted give up or to call it quits. My s

Good News

How can you help??

I hope you are all having a great start to the new year. For many I am sure you are working hard to focus on your new goals and resolutions for 2016. I am definitely trying to focus in and believe fully in what has called me to do! As many of you may know, I trust God to provide all of finances so I can continue to be a full time missionary. All I am doing is volunteer. If you would like to be apart of supporting what I do through ywam, please visit my Gofundme page or give through Paypal. https://www.gofundme.com/lindseyburton https://www.paypal.me/LindseyB I am so blessed by those who have given in the past and who continue to sow into my life in ministry. 2016 // What Next?

Image
2016. Happy new year!! For many, January feels like a fresh start, a clean slate. People set new goals and are inspired to break bad habits and begin some good ones. I see a new year as an exciting time of wonder. I look back and am in awe of all that has happened. I am so thankful for my relationship with Jesus and the amazing people and places. I have been seeking God for what the next steps are for me and what 2016 would look like. While in Mozambique I found myself asking God many questions about my life in ministry and where He saw it going. He grew in my heart an even greater passion for seeing people encounter his presence and be transformed. Being in Pemba I saw in such a great way how God wants to bring freedom to individuals, but also communities and nations. He has also been growing my love for worship leading, song writing and discipleship. So what next for me? I am moving to Australia once again to Staff ywam Gold Coast's next School of Worship!!
