October Update and New Opportunities!!!

G'day Everybody! Exciting things are happening Here at YWAM Brisbane. The October Music, Art, and Dance Discipleship Training School Started last week. This week they have been in lectures learning about the Character and Nature of God. It is so exciting to here their revelations and the different things they are looking forward to this 6 months. I have taken on more responsibility in the Hospitality department on base and have been able to train new students in work duties and also plan a goodbye party for some staff who are leaving YWAM. Really exciting and also challenging. Soon Christmas planning will start and I am stoked! Something else I want to share with you are some plans I am making for November and December. As staff on the BLS school, I have 4 weeks of Vacation time in my 18 month commitment. I don't believe that it is the wisest choice to go back to the states for this time because plane tickets are really expensive and it would be better to save what support

Quick September Update

Hello Everyone!! I wanted to send out a quick update to share about the season I am in right now. As you may have read in my previous posts, The Discipleship Training School I was staffing on finished up in August. Now I am on my logistical Phase of my Basic Leadership School, where I serve the base in a more practical way. I am on the Bases Hospitality staff right now until January. That means I am able to organize where quests and speakers stay, along with making sure they feel welcome and blessed. I also organize different things for events or times of fellowship. Here at YWAM Brisbane we live in a community with lots of people coming in and out, so making sure things are clean and well taken care of is something I can practically help with. After the school ended I came down with some pretty hard core illnesses. I had a sinus infection that wrecked my immune system and I them developed Shingles. It was confusing and didn't feel so awesome but now I am feeling better then I h

Japan Outreach and End of School Update

Hello everyone, I am very excited to finally be sharing with you about our outreach to Japan, and also what is happening here on the base.   I lead a team of 7 students with two other staff members to Japan in June. We were in Japan for 7 weeks and stayed in two different locations. For the first 3 weeks we stayed in Tokyo. We worked mainly alongside a Christian school called God’s Kingdom. The kids ranged in age from about 4 to 18. We would lead worship in the morning at the school and sometimes would share our testimonies or some teaching. During the day we would have team meetings to pray for Japan, other teams, for our contacts, for the kids at the school, and other things. We would take the younger kids to parks and we would go to PE classes with the older kids. We would run activity days where we would plan games, songs, dances, and other awesome crazy things. We were also able to connect with a church and share in their Sunday service. Something amazing we saw God do was

April Update

Hey Everyone, I wanted to share what has been happening in my life over the last 4 weeks. Back at the end of March, all the DTS’ and many others from the Brisbane Base headed to Toowoomba for Easter Fest. For those who don’t know, the City of Toowoomba puts on this huge Christian Music Festival every year over Easter Weekend. It draws in hundreds of people for a weekend of fun and music, but is also is dedicated to sharing the Easter Message and God’s truths. YWAM supplied about 150 volunteers to help make the festival happen. The Brisbane Base was there, along with YWAMers from the Gold Coast, Newcastle, and Byron Bay.   We spent the week doing practical jobs such as setting up stages and equipment, wrapping fences, putting up signs, directing the groups and families to their camping sites, cleaning, and really anything else they needed done in order to make the festival happen. Then Friday begins the amazing experience. Bands such as Reliant K, Ascend the Hill, United Pursuit,
