Update for the month of Feb!! and weekly Schedule

Hey everyone!
Our MAD DTS 2013 began February 13. We have 9 staff and 17 students. Week one of the dts was on the Character and Nature of God. We had our lectures with the Beach 2 Bush and Sports DTSs as well. It was an amazing first week. Last week The MAD school had teachings on Hearing the Voice of God. Jason Salari, who was my DTS school leader, was the speaker. He has amazing communication skills and is a man who lives what He teaches. I want to take some time to explain more of our weekly schedule here on the MAD DTS. I hope this gives you a better picture of what we are doing here in Brisbane!!!

Monday:
(7:30-8:00) -  The MAD staff get together and pray
(8:00-10:30)  - We do some base wide cleaning together and then have a community meeting
(10:30-12:30)- Lecture time for students and staff
(2:30-3:30) - Family time as a school
(3:30-5:30) - Students work on homework and the Staff have a meeting
(7:30-9:00) - Some sort of school activity or teaching

Tuesday:
(8:30-9:30) - School Bible Study
(9:30-12:30) - Student Lectures and staff BLS lectures
(1:30-3:30) - Staff do assessments and look over the students work
(3:30-5:30) - Creative Encounters -when students and staff break into groups of focus such as Music, Dance, Photography and Fine Arts, and Video.
(7:30-9:30) - Outreach meetings

Wednesday:
(8:30-9:30) - Student presentations "Adopt a Nation" they make a presentation on an unreached Nation and then we Intercede for that nation and its people.
(9:30-12:30) - Lectures
(1:30-3:30) - Staff Meeting
(3:30-5:30) - Sport and Art in the Park - a local outreach where all the YWAMers play sport and do different art in the park while hanging out with the community. Then we have a free Barbecue.
(7:30-9:00) - We worship as a school or as a Community

Thursday:
(7:30-8:30) - The staff team meet and pray
(8:30- 9:30) - Creative encounters
(9:30-12:30) - Lectures
(2:30-3:30) - MAD has an Intercession time
(3:30-5:30) - The staff lead small groups for the students

Friday:
(8:30-10:00) - Community Intercession with the whole Base
(10:00- 12:30) - Lectures
(2:30- 3:30) - Creative Encounters
(7:30- 10:00) - Local Outreach

So, as you can see, it is a very full week and this doesn't include the time Staff put in for One on Ones with students and also our own staff assignments and planning times for everything. Also all the work that goes into planning and budgeting for an outreach. Its Like an over 60 hour a week job, not including weekends, and you also live at work.

Airlie Beach

Hello there, sorry about taking forever to update!! So last week I went on a 16 hour road trip (not including the stops and such) to Airlie Beach. Its this Beautiful location right on the ocean and a group of about 20 people from my DTS went there to help with schoolies. Schoolies is a big party after the Australians graduate High school. Its a big celebration put on by the government that not only involves theme parties and loud music but also drinking, drugs, abuse, and even deaths. During these weeks of partying students get into about everything imaginable. My team went into this environment with the intention of simply loving these young people and showing them we cared. We set up what was called the chai tent. it was a big tent, and inside we set up little tables with pillows around them and we served free slushies and chai tea. a lovely little update :)

Hey there, So after the week in Airlie there was a week on Spiritual Warfare and then a week of Father Heart of God. Both weeks were amazing!!! Spiritual warfare is something I really didn't know much about and it is something I have a bit of a hard time understanding, but it is very real and so powerful. We have so much authority against Satin and it goes unrecognized and that isn't good. Father Heart of God week made me really begin to appreciate my dad, and the rest of my family, and also it gave me a clearer perspective in seeing God as my father and daddy. Then a very cool guy named Mark Parker from New Zealand came and helped us really surrender ourselves to God and the Holy Spirit. He spoke all week on Lordship. Then Friday we began at 8:30 in the morning and all together experienced an amazing transformation till 2:30ish in the morning on Saturday. We went through different steps as a school and did different things like giving thanks, worshiping, giving burnt offeri

3 Weeks to Go!!

Greeting from Michigan!! I have 3 weeks to go until I am required to be in Pemba, Mozambique! I have no idea what to think or feel, but I am definitely excited and also facing a lot of the unknown. I miss being in the ywam Gold Coast community very much, but i know that God has a plan bigger and better then mine. So I am proclaiming in Faith that I will be in Africa in a few weeks! As of right now I do not have enough funds to get flights or apply for a visa, but God is providing in different ways and I hope to have flights by the end of the week and a my visa application in the mail.
