Pieces of Mozambique

Here are some moments from my life in Mozambique!! Going into villages means there are lots of new friends to spend time with. We sing songs and dance together. We paint their nails and they give us mangoes.  While leaving one of the villages, the locals were singing outside our caravan. So of coarse, being a Mozambican, this little guy started to dance!!! He was so cheeky but he had good moves.  As 250 people from 30 different nations came together for this season with Iris Global, Mozambican pastors from all over the country also came to get training at a Bible School Iris offers. We had so much fun coming together in the presence of God. Mozambicans have so much passion and joy. It is beautiful!! Life looks very different in the cities then in the village. Because we were a truck load of while people, many would come to sell us fruit, bread, cokes and fried food. Sometimes it was exactly what we needed to get through our road trips ...

Chapters 4 and 5; April and May

Greetings from Brisbane!! Time is flying by here at YWAM Brisbane. In my last update I shared about my new role as the leader of our worship department and joining a ministry called Creative Development Ministry Team. I am excited to share that through the challenge of transition, I am enjoying this new position of leadership and I continue to be hopeful that God is taking this community in a new direction and I get to be a part of that. I heard a sermon recently where the speaker shared his perspective on worship leaders. For a long time I have seen worship leading as an opportunity to help people encounter God so that then they can go out and live lives with Him. This is true, but something the speaker shared in the sermon was how leading worship is a beautiful fulfilment of God’s commandment to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and love your neighbour as yourself. Steps of faith

Part of Worshiping God is testifying what He is doing and give Him the glory for those things. Sometimes this is much easier to do when God has come through and we look back and declare His goodness. But what about when you are in the middle of a challenging situation, how do you testify in the waiting. I don't really know the answer but I think Faith and the Holy Spirit's leading has to do with it. God can give you hope in your situation and His voice gives us what is needed to hold to the vision and persevere through the hard times. So this brings me to what I want to share. I honestly didn't want to make it public that I booked my flights last week. I was afraid. Afraid of what people would think. Afraid of what could happen. Not a good place to be friends.
