Hello Everybody, Team Japan 2013 The last month has been amazing and very challenging. We have been working in our outreach teams a lot in order to prepare for 7 weeks overseas. With the 3 different schools running at the moment, YWAM Brisbane is sending out 9 different teams. The teams are Germany/Netherlands, Finland/Sweden, Norway, Japan, Guam/Saipan, India, Borneo, Australia, and Japan/Philippines. I am Co-leading a team with two Australians to Japan. We are a team of 10, 3 leaders and 7 students. Our team consists of Americans, Canadians, Australians, and a German. Our Team Leaves June 17 for Japan until Aug. 4. We have spent a lot of time preparing and  praying for our time there. It has been exciting to grow closer as a team and to make connections with people in Japan. We have 2 more weeks to really prepare ministry tools and sermons, and then we will head out. Our plans right now are to spend 3 and a half weeks in Tokyo, Japan and then 3 and a half weeks in Osaka, ...

April Update

Hey Everyone, I wanted to share what has been happening in my life over the last 4 weeks. Back at the end of March, all the DTS’ and many others from the Brisbane Base headed to Toowoomba for Easter Fest. For those who don’t know, the City of Toowoomba puts on this huge Christian Music Festival every year over Easter Weekend. It draws in hundreds of people for a weekend of fun and music, but is also is dedicated to sharing the Easter Message and God’s truths. YWAM supplied about 150 volunteers to help make the festival happen. The Brisbane Base was there, along with YWAMers from the Gold Coast, Newcastle, and Byron Bay.   We spent the week doing practical jobs such as setting up stages and equipment, wrapping fences, putting up signs, directing the groups and families to their camping sites, cleaning, and really anything else they needed done in order to make the festival happen. Then Friday begins the amazing experience. Bands such as Reliant K, Ascend the Hill, United Pursu...

Update for the month of Feb!! and weekly Schedule

Hey everyone! Our MAD DTS 2013 began February 13. We have 9 staff and 17 students. Week one of the dts was on the Character and Nature of God. We had our lectures with the Beach 2 Bush and Sports DTSs as well. It was an amazing first week. Last week The MAD school had teachings on Hearing the Voice of God. Jason Salari, who was my DTS school leader, was the speaker. He has amazing communication skills and is a man who lives what He teaches. I want to take some time to explain more of our weekly schedule here on the MAD DTS. I hope this gives you a better picture of what we are doing here in Brisbane!!! Monday: (7:30-8:00) -  The MAD staff get together and pray (8:00-10:30)  - We do some base wide cleaning together and then have a community meeting (10:30-12:30)- Lecture time for students and staff (2:30-3:30) - Family time as a school (3:30-5:30) - Students work on homework and the Staff have a meeting (7:30-9:00) - Some sort of school activity or teaching ...

end of week three!!

Hey everyone!!! I have been in Brisbane for about 3 weeks. We just completed our TAA training and on Monday we Begin BLS. It has been a crazy 2 weeks of classes and assessments and projects, but I MADE IT!! Some of the awesome stuff happening on the base. . . . . . .The Beach 2 Bush DTS just graduated last night so we had a wonderful Love feast for them. Next weekend the MAD DTS that started last fall is headed on outreach. Our students will be coming in 4 weeks. we are till praying for 20 students and we are almost there!!! Also, the Visas have been approved and we will have them soon. It has been amazing to be back here in Brisbane and with YWAM. It was defiantly like coming home. I will have more to update when BLS starts and we really begin planning school stuff. I'm so excited to got started!!!!!!

Departure

I will be flying out of GR on Saturday the 29th of December. My plane leaves 5:20pm and i should arrive in Brisbane at 6:15 on the 31st. I have one more week of work and then two weeks to get everything in order. Time has gone so fast!! Something you could pray for is my Visa situation. Because of Government stuff on Brisbane's end, I can't get a student Visa right now. I am praying i can get one before i leave, but otherwise i have to leave on a visitor Visa and that makes things a bit more complicated. Please pray that everything gets worked out and I can get a student Visa before i go. Also, pray for me in these last few weeks I have and for my transition to come. It's hard to explain how I am "feeling" about everything right now. Those who have done something similar to this will understand. However, I know this is what i am meant to do and I have seen God working in amazing ways to make this happen. If you are interested if knowing how you can support me ...

A way to donate!!!

What's Next For Me . . .

Hey! So I will be continuing to use this awesome blog, but I am shifting the focus a bit! October 2011- May 2012 I was a DTS student at the Brisbane, Australia YWAM Base. I graduated and flew back to Michigan. I have been back in the states for about 6 months now and I am preparing to move back to Brisbane and begin a Basic Leadership School (BLS). I will back at the YWAM Base for about two years. I will be learning about being a better Christ like leader, staffing on DTSs', working on the Base, leading Outreaches, and pursuing a calling God has placed on my heart. I will be flying out the first week of January 2013. I am excited for this next season and am doing a lot of support raising and such while still in Michigan. Let Me know if you are interested in supporting me in any way. I will try to continue updating you till I head out, and then over the next two years :) Heaps of Love, Lindsey
