Seasons Change

I have to confess I didn't realize it had been so long since my last update!!

I recently read a book by Donald Miller where he shares his experience as a writer. It made me realize that the amazing stories that we read in books come out of a long lonely process of sitting for months writing and re-writing. He shares how while he is actually living the story is not when he has the time to write it. Writing a simple blog post is not the same as one of Miller's amazing books, but I relate with him in the idea that while life is happening, writing about it can be more difficult then you would think, especially when you are still trying to figure out what kind of story you desire to live.

I graduated from ywam Gold Coast's first School of worship at the end of July. We finished our outreach in Australia and then wrapped everything up. I am so thankful for the opportunity I had to invest in another ywam community and to be developed as a worship leader. Outreach gave me a beautiful perspective of God's heart for the church and it made me realize even more my heart for discipleship and worship. I still have so many questions about worship and ministry, but I wouldn't want to walk away from a experience like this with just a bunch of christian answers to questions. I have gotten to know Jesus more and found a new way God can use me to share His love. I have more understanding then ever before and I have loved learning through the bible, speakers, books, and experience why we worship and how to lead others in the presence of God. I am beyond thankful for the people and places God has brought me to in this last season. He is Faithful and good.

Now I am in transition. I have moved back to Michigan where my family live and am now pursuing something new! God has lead me to Iris Global, an amazing ministry that “exists to participate in bringing the Kingdom of God to earth in all its aspects, but most especially through our particular calling to serve the very poor: the destitute, the lost, the broken and the forgotten.” I have been accepted into the program and am heading there for 2 months beginning in October as a way to learn about the culture and ministry. I hope to be involved with similar ministry in the future and so I am looking forwards to see what God has for me there.

I will keep you updated on the preparation process and let you know how you can be involved!!

Be Blessed,
Lindsey Burton
